Arvind Sharma

Arvind Sharma is a renowned scholar of Hinduism, comparative religion and women and religion. Having taught at the University of Queensland and the University of Sydney in Australia, he is now the Birks Professor of Comparative Religion at McGill University in Canada. He has published over fifty books and five hundred articles in the fields of comparative religion, Hinduism, Indian philosophy and ethics, and the role of women in religion. Often cited as a leading authority on Hinduism, amongst his most noteworthy publications are The Hindu Gita: Ancient and Classical Interpretations of the Bhagavadgita; The Experiential Dimension of Advaita Vedanta; Our Religions: The Seven World Religions Introduced by Preeminent Scholars from Each Tradition; The Study of Hinduism; Women in World Religions; Religion and Women; and Today’s Women in World Religions, and he is the co-editor of The Annual Review of Women in the World Religions.
