C. Ram-Prasad

Chakravarthi Ram-Prasad is a senior lecturer in religious studies and
director of postgraduate research at Lancaster University. He taught at
the National University of Singapore, and held research fellowships at Trinity
College, Oxford and Clare Hall, Cambridge, before joining the Department of
Religious Studies, Lancaster University. His main areas of interest are Indian
and comparative philosophy, and religion and politics. He has published nearly
forty papers on a wide range of topics in these areas and in classical Hinduism.
His recent books are Knowledge and Liberation in Classical Indian Thought,
(Basingstoke: Palgrave, 2001) and Advaita Epistemology and Metaphysics (London/New
York: RoutledgeCurzon, 2002). He is currently engaged in two main projects: one
is on religion, governance and globalization; and the other is on theories of
consciousness.
