Vasudha Narayanan

Vasudha Narayanan, professor of religion at the University of Florida, is a leading scholar of Hinduism in the United States.  She has published six books and over ninety articles, chapters and encyclopedia entries on various aspects of Hinduism, including:  Hinduism; The Vernacular Veda: Revelation, Recitation, and Ritual; The Way and the Goal: Expressions of Devotion in the Early Srivaisnava Tradition; and The Tamil Veda: Pillan’s Interpretation of the Tiruvaymoli..  She has been a Guggenheim Fellow and a National Endowment for the Humanities Fellow, was the president of the Society for Hindu-Christian Studies from 1996-1998, and is former president of the American Academy of Religion.   She currently also serves on the editorial board of the Journal of the American Academy of Religion.
