Charlotte Fonrobert
Professor Charlotte Fonrobert is assistant professor of religious studies at Stanford University. Specializing in Judaism, particularly Talmudic literature and the construction of gender, her current research focuses on the cultural strategies Talmudic rabbis employed to construct their identity as the only valid Jewish identity and to de-legitimize Jewish cultural alternatives. Prof. Fonrobert is the author of Menstrual Purity: Rabbinic and Christian Reconstructions of Biblical Gender with Stanford University Press.
