John Chathanatt
Prof. John Chathanatt, S.J., a Christian theologian and ethicist with strong interests in comparative religion, is the principal of Vidyajyoti College of Theology in Delhi, India. He is an executive member of the Justice and Peace Commission of the Archdiocese of Delhi and a member of the Justice, Peace, and Development Commission of the Catholic Bishops Conference of India and has been a visiting lecturer at a number of Indian colleges. He is the author of Liberation Theology: A Dialogue between Gandhi and Guttierez and was a fellow at Woodstock Theological Center at George Washington University from 2001-2002. His recent publications have focused on such ethical issues as human rights and debt and development, and in March 2004 he convened a seminar at Vidhyajyoti College on religion, conflict, and psychic and social healing.
