
Elie Kaplan Spitz
Rabbi Elie Kaplan Spitz is the Rabbi of Congregation B’nai Israel in Tustin, Orange County, California. He also serves as Adjunct Lecturer of Jewish Law at the University of Judaism. He received his Rabbinic Ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary of America in New York, the University of Judaism in Los Angeles, and Neve Schecter in Jerusalem. Additionally, he received his J.D. from the Boston University School of Law. He is currently a member of the Rabbinical Assembly Committee of Law and Standards and a member of the Bar Association in Arizona, California, and Massachusetts. Rabbi Spitz has served as President of the Orange County Board of Rabbis and is the author of the book Does the Soul Survive? A Jewish Journey to Belief in Afterlife, Past Lives, and Living with Purpose, which has received accolades from such distinguished scholars as Elie Wiesel, Elisabeth Kubler-Ross and Lawrence Kushner. Rabbi Spitz has also authored seven chapters in other books as well as a number of journal publications. One of his areas of particular scholarly interest is medical ethics and the Jewish perspective on medical ethics.
