David Garcia

David Garcia is an Emmy award-winning producer, director, writer, cinematographer, and educator with 39 years of experience in the film industry.  With over 600 films, documentaries and television episodes to his credit, Garcia served as executive producer of movies and mini-series at NBC and executive producer at MCA Universal TV before beginning his teaching career at the American Film Institute (1984–1990).  He served as head of production at the Los Angeles Film School between 1999 and 2000 and is currently director of student productions at Chapman University.  From 1987 to 1999 Garcia was president and CEO of Net University, a software development company dedicated to integrating educational learning systems for university level continuing education, distance learning, and corporate training.  Garcia was also the president and CEO of Media Concepts, a film production company and film library, and served as executive director of Education First!, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing awareness and prioritization of education through the media.  David’s advice has already been instrumental in both the production and post-production phases of the Forum’s documentary series “Patterns for Peace.”
