This conference will together scientists, ethicists, philosophers, scholars of

Medical Ethics: Global Issues and Multicultural
Perspectives

This conference brought together scientists, ethicists, philosophers, scholars
of religion, international law specialists, and medical practitioners for an
open public discussion of ethical issues surrounding medical
treatment and technological advances as well as multicultural perspectives on
healing.

Documentary Film
Patterns for Peace: India as a
Model for Peace in a Multi-religious Society

The Forum finished production on a documentary film exploring India's heritage
of nonviolence and peaceful co-existence in a multi-religious society.
Original footage was shot primarily on
location in Gujarat and Rajasthan, India, in January of this year and also includes
an interview with His Holiness the Fourteenth Dalai Lama. Interviews
with Hindu, Zoroastrian, Sikh and Jain leaders were filmed at the Fourth
Parliament of the World's Religions.

University of Gujarat, Ahmedabad, India: December 29, 2003 - January 2, 2004
Philosophers, scholars of religion, sociologists, economists, defense experts,
and psychologists came together for this conference to explore the causes
of disharmony and violence in our world today and solutions that can foster
increased harmony and peace in our global community. As a major sponsor
of the conference, the Forum sponsored the participation of international
scholars and organized the following three panels: "War and
Cosmopolitanism," "Hinduism, Islam, and Peace," and Religion, Terrorism and
Politics." The conference was opened by the President of India and closed
by the Deputy Prime Minister.

Gujarat and Rajasthan, India
The Forum is currently in the post-production phase a documentary film exploring India's heritage
of nonviolence in a multi-religious society. Much of the film was shot on
location in Gujarat and Rajasthan, India, in January. The film's
projected release will be in 2006.
